NOPD spokeswoman officer Hilal Williams, however, said the department's response time was "acceptable" -- officers were dispatched to the scene at 4:09 a.m. and the first units arrived at 4:18 a.m. Williams acknowledged that "10 minutes can feel like forever when you're in that type of situation," but still, she said, the reality is "we just can't possibly have cars outside every house."
Hey, I'm the guy that dropped of the pistol. If you can will you send me a pic of the 44mag rifle that you told me about.
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
(Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".
"You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can crash, drip, flow...be water my friend."

Su Wong marries Lee Wong. The next year, the Wongs have a new baby.
The nurse brings over a lovely, healthy, bouncy, but definitely a Caucasian, WHITE baby boy.

'Congratulations,' says the nurse to the new parents. 'Well Mr. Wong, what will you and Mrs. Wong name the baby?'
The puzzled father looks at his new baby boy and says, 'Well, two Wong's don't make a white, so I think we will name him...

      Are you ready for this?

When you're betting for stones in an archery contest, you shoot with skill. When you're betting for fancy belt buckles, you worry about your aim. And when you're betting for real gold, you're a nervous wreck. Your skill is the same in all three cases - but because one prize means more to you than another, you let outside concerns weigh on your mind. He who looks too hard at the outside gets clumsy on the inside.

      -Chuang Tzu
"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men."

      -Samuel Adams
Your ultimate goal is to be a better shooter, not prove "my way" of practicing/learning/shooting is better than your way. I don't need to "reveal to all" that my way is better. Maybe "your way" IS better? I want to be open to that, not prove it wrong or me right. My "ultimate endeavor" is to keep improving, not to prove something.
"Competition, is a crucial part of the process, in the mastery of a chosen art. Its a demonstration, by the practitioner, that his path, his way in the journey of that mastery was either correct, or in need of further refinement.

Classes are fine, their purpose is to suggest the way, through the shared experience of a master. They indicate right direction, encourage discipline, and a process to practice. But in the case of arms, in the end you must take what you see, what you hear, what you read, and what you experience and turn it into your own way. It is ultimately your endeavor, and to stand in the arena before others, and demonstrate your way reveals to all and mainly yourself whether you put your faith in
the truth or just a facade of smoke.

To deny yourself the opportunity to experience such an aspect of the journey is a mistake."
"The great mistake is to anticipate the outcome of the engagement; you ought not to be thinking of whether it ends in victory or defeat. Let nature take it's course, and your tools will strike at the right moment."---Bruce Lee
We all nourish our souls in ways appropriate to our needs. Some people go fishing; some people go to church; some people wander about in the outdoors. Some of us go to the range and come home cleansed and relaxed
The birth of a man is the birth of his sorrow. The longer he lives, the more stupid he becomes, because his anxiety to avoid unavoidable death becomes more and more acute. What bitterness! He lives for what is always out of reach! His thirst for survival in the future makes him incapable of living in the present.

      -Chang-Tzu
Those who know do not speak - Those who speak do not know

      ***************************************

Do not remark on the faults of others, but see what you yourself have done or left undone.

      **********************************************

The fool knows many things, and talks about them endlessly. The sage knows that one can not know that one knows and remains silent unless asked for an opinion which is all that is possible
      Lao Fzu

      @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Better to remain quiet and thought a fool then speak and remove all doubt!

      *******************************************************

"It is better to practice a little than talk a lot."
ALL things in nature have instinct, SOME things in nature have the ability to calculate. A rock has the instinct to do nothing, a river has the instinct to flow, a tree has the instinct to grow and regenerate, and an animal has the instinct to breathe. It is our ability to calculate that often interfears with our natural ability to exist. The time spent over-analylising people and situations prevent us from reacting naturally to the stimuli. We, in effect, alter the natural flow of nature by trying to control it. We change who we are in an attempt to gain something small by minipulating the situations around us. As difficult as it is you must not care what others think of you and just live instinctivly. You must aquire and negosiate people and situations the way you do targets. Which is that you consciously and subconsiously understand the entire course of fire but when your sights align with an individual target you know that it is there and you just have to pull the trigger. This probibly makes no sense at all but it just came to me like that....Instinctivly.
