By joining the Bayoushooter forums, you agree to adhere to the following rules. All facets of the forum, including but not limited to each forum section and private messages.
By agreeing to the forum rules, you agree that you will not post, private message, or link to any content which is defamatory, hateful, threatening, abusive, vulgar, contains adult or objectionable content, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws.
Rule 1: No rudeness or personal attacks
While we appreciate passionate and informed discussion we will not allow rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, purposeless inflammatory posts, or trolling. If you do not like a thread or do not have anything positive to say, do not post anything at all.
Rule 2: No condoning of assault, threats, or harassment
It is not permitted to advocate, encourage, or condone unlawful physical violence, threats of violence, assault, or harassment against anyone, whether members of these forums or not. It is also not permitted to post personally identifying information of another user without their express consent. Violating this rule can lead to an immediate ban.
Rule 3: No argumentative and divisive behavior
Members who consistently post argumentative and divisive messages will be removed from the forums. *This is especially true in Law Enforcement threads. *Posts include bickering, arguing, generalizing, or denigrating LE service or citizen actions, will be deleted. *The moderating staff will be the sole decider of the tone/intent of a post. *Posts deemed to be in violation of our rules will be deleted and may result in infractions.
This rule is not meant to stifle the civil discussion of laws or other current issues relevant to gun owners, instead it is to allow these discussions to flourish as opposed to devolving.
Rule 4: Criticize constructively
Critiques of individuals, site sponsors, or advertising partners should be done in the spirit of constructive discourse. Please speak to others with respect regardless of how you may view their position.
Rule 5: Stay on topic
While we certainly appreciate broad discussions and try to allow threads to run their course, we do not want entirely unrelated comments posted.
Rule 6: Request approval for all advertising
Our forum is able to stay in existence thanks to the sale of advertising space. If you would like to advertise please contact a member of the moderating staff.
Rule 7: Please observe copyright law
Posts may be edited and/or deleted in order to conform to copyright law.
Rule 8: Only one login account per member
Each member is allowed only one login account. This especially includes banned users.
Rule 9: Do not publicly dispute Moderation decisions
Do not post on the forums questioning moderation decisions or the integrity of the moderators. Questions about moderation decisions can be addressed via the Private Messaging system. Be respectful of the moderators, both in the forums and in any private communications you have with them.
Rule 10: False Claims
Many of our members are military veterans or law enforcement, and as such we have great respect for these communities. We have had issues in the past with users falsely claiming to have been members of these communities, and as such we will require anyone making said claims to provide proof of service. Failure to provide proof of service after making claims will result in an immediate ban of the user's account.
Furthermore, this rule need not apply only to law enforcement or veterans. Anyone making claims that prove to be false that could potentially be detrimental to the forum or its user-base will be removed. An example is claiming to be a lawyer and issuing legal advice.

Welcome to the Bayoushooter.com Marketplace. In order to help ensure consistency in the threads, please abide by the following rules when posting a new thread or when adding a post to an existing thread, as it may apply:
Failure to abide by these rules will cause a moderator/administrator to edit or remove your thread without notice. Continuous violations may be cause for you to be banned.
Summary:New threads MUST have; Price, Picture, Contact Info and Location.
Important Notice: BayouShooter encourages ALL members conducting ANY transaction to use a holder of a Federal Firearms License (FFL) as an intermediary for ALL transactions involving firearms. All sales of any items should alway involve a Bill of Sale signed and dated by all parties involved. Bills of Sale protect both the buyer and seller. If someone does not want to utilize a Bill of Sale, please notify site staff, immediately, as this is a common red flag of a scammer. BayouShooter is a public forum and we cannot control who posts items on here and as such we strongly recommend that buyers and sellers perform all due diligence possible before entering into a transaction. Due diligence includes knowing what you are buying and what you are selling. All transactions conducted outside of a FFL are at your own risk. If you do not feel comfortable using a traditional Bill of Sale, we encourage you to contact an attorney for assistance.
NEW THREADS (Selling, Trading, or otherwise parting with an item):
1) For sale threads must have a price. No 'make offer' threads. Feel free to put or best offer (OBO), but at least start with a price. a) WTB (want to buy) threads do not need a price. b) WTT (want to trade) threads do not need a price unless there is the possibility of an outright sale. c) Your thread's title must clearly state the intention of the ad. This means whether you want to sell, trade or buy. Widely accepted acronyms are preferred (WTS, WTB, WTT, etc.). 2) Must have Photo(s) for WTS and WTT threads. The photo does not have to be of your item, but at least a stock photo of the item you are selling. Be aware that you'll have a better chance of selling your item if you use a photo of your item. You must post a picture at the time of posting, if you don't have a picture available find one on the internet that will work as an example or wait to post the ad when you do have one.A clickable link to a website containing a pic does not count. THE IMAGE MUST SHOW UP IN THE THREAD. 3)Bump Post: Replies to your thread are allowed once per day. You may NOT bump your AD the same day you have listed it. 4) Location. You must have the location portion of your profile filled out. This is accessible under the "Settings" menu at the top of every page (click here). Location must be the city/town you live in or are closest to. It is advisable to mention your location in the thread as well. 5) Upon closing a deal or removing an item for sale, please edit the thread to show the item as sold. You need not delete the thread or remove the information in it. Simply notating that the item is sold shall suffice. This helps keep track of the item.
6) All ads should be placed in the appropriate section within the Marketplace. If the ad can be placed in multiple sections, pick the most appropriate section. Any item for sale or for trade should appear in only one ad. Only one WTB ad should be posted although the item being sought can appear in other WTT ads.
If an ad is placed in the wrong section anywhere on the forum, do not post a new ad in the correct location. You should notify an admin or a mod (you can report your own ad) and the ad will be moved to the appropriate location.
-If you are interested in an item, please contact the seller via PM or the contact method prescribed in the thread.
-By using the BayouShooter PM system, a written log of all messages is kept and you can use the report message button if a problem arises. This method of communication links all conversations to an account and aids in accountability.
If you attempt to reply to someone's thread you will see an error message. If you have a question, trade offer, gripe, purchase offer, etc, you must contact the poster either via the supplied contact information or via PM (PM is advisable).
BILLS of SALE (BOS): BayouShooter advises that all purchases are accompanied by a bill of sale with a valid government issued ID. While a BOS is not necessarily mandated by law, it is generally a good idea as it protects both the buyer and seller.
Sponsors are allowed one thread in the classifieds, outside of the sponsor's classifieds, to advertise their business(not one per category), which must meet the same rules as a standard ad. You can place as many items as you want in your thread. Once an item is sold, please EDIT the item out of the thread, do not create another thread. Additionally, please place the thread in category the which most directly relates to your business. EX: Pawn & Gun would go in one of the firearms classifieds, while a camping supply store would go in the General Outdoors classifieds.
1) NO copyrighted, trademarked, or other items that have a registered and protected intellectual property right connected with the sale (i.e., copies of MS office, photoshop, etc.) unless you are an authorized distributor. 2) NO items that are deemed illegal by the State of Louisiana, the state in which the seller resides, the state which the prospective buyer resides, or the Federal government. If you have an item such as a 'widget' (for example) that is illegal for sale in Louisiana, DO NOT SELL IT. If it is legal to sell but that sale requires certain legal process to take place, then it is authorized. The onus is upon the seller/buyer to ensure those processes are completed. 3) Once your item is sold, please edit your thread using the Edit button and change the TITLE ONLY and add SOLD to the end. Please do not edit the actual ad as we want to keep track of how things were advertised in case any problems arise.
KEEP YOUR SALE/TOPIC 'UP TO DATE':
Edit your Thread Title with "SPF(Sold pending Funds)," "Sold," "Traded," "Gone" etc.
This is to aid the moderators as well as buyers by knowing what the current status of the Sale AD is and whether it's still available.
In your original post, click Edit, then Go Advanced and edit the title from there. *Please do not reply to your thread to mark it Sold.*
PRODUCT SERIAL NUMBERS:
The sales of ANY item with damaged, obscured, or obliterated serial numbers is FORBIDDEN! This board will not facilitate anything that is grey market, black market, or has the possibility or appearance of being either. Violation of this Rule will lead to having your account Banned from the Website Permanently! If someone attempts to sell an item with a damaged serial number, please report them to your local authorities and to a site staff member.
*(c) Dealer in firearms other than a gunsmith or a pawnbroker. A person who devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business with the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms, but such a term shall not include a person who makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his personal collection of firearms.*
It has come to our attention of the possibility of a Seller who might participate in unlawful sales of Ammunition and/or Firearms not necessarily due to an ignorance of the Law but also the possibility of willful disobedience to the Law.
Based on this observation, ALL members are hereby warned of the following:
If guns are your hobby, great, we understand wanting to try them all.
If you want to make constant income on firearms and/or ammo, you should obtain a Federal Firearms License.
If you break ANY Local, State or Federal Laws in the course of a sale you make in the marketplace, Bayoushooter.com will cooperate fully with any investigation by local, state, or federal law enforcement.
It is YOUR responsibility to familiarize yourself with Louisiana Laws (and laws of your state if not LA) concerning the ownership, possession, selling, trading and buying firearms. *SOME* of these laws have been collected for your convenience located HERE
If you misrepresent items you are selling,(i.e. selling reloaded ammo as new), you can be permanently banned from Bayoushooter.com.
In Final; Ignorance or Willful Ignorance to the Law by no means provides you an exception or excuse to the Law. These rules are subject to change at any time without notice. It is the duty of the members to stay up to date on the most up to date rules. Individual ads are conducted by individual members and do not represent BayouShooter.com or it's staff. If you see an ad in violation of any of these rules or any law, please use the report button to alert site staff.
For any questions regarding the rules, please direct them to AustinBR
By breaking or not adhering to the above terms, you may be warned/banned appropriately.
