    Lol Perez!

Here’s my latest build. Yeah, I drank the Creedmore Koolaid I reckon. I mean shucks, why not?
I had just built a precision .308 rifle and then here comes the 6.5 Creedmore, so instead of being smart and going bolt action, I went AR on its ass...

The fat 20 inch Ballistic Advantage barrel brings it to
11 pounds even... so, I figure I’ll bolt an Atlas bipod under the forend and tie a rope to it. Use it for a boat anchor.

Gotta say I’m pleased with the performance for what I have in it. Shooting off a bag at 600 with a decent Hornady load it’s a tack driver. Coefficient and drop on the 6.5 is some better than the .308 rounds I’m used to at longer ranges and it’s apparent. Decided to give Athalon a shot and the 27x is a good match for this rifle I think. Gonna reach out a couple hundred yards more next trip. And use the sled!

Any review on the take-down kit from Pantheon? Interesting idea if it doesn't mess with accuracy and point of aim after removing the barrel. I know most people won't put them on their long-range builds, but any experience with it yet, good or bad?

You're relying on the Pantheon assembly to keep the barrel secured, rather than the fitment between the barrel extension and receiver. It's a niche item, not specifically designed with accuracy in mind.

I would be surprised if poi doesn't shift a little. The hand guard has a long hole for the gas tube that allows the hand guard rotate 90 degrees. That's what allows the hand guard to ratchet on the upper. Theoretically, the barrel should fall in the same spot every time but it's also a 7-1/2 inch barrel. The goal having a packable weapon that would be good enough at closer ranges. It's not slow to assemble but there are a few steps. The brace won't fold unless the bolt is forward and the barrel won't attach unless the bolt is locked to the rear. I just put it together yesterday and I haven't made the time to bring it to the range to test out yet.

That's why I said it's a niche item. Just be wary of the gas tube end when you're putting it together.

I noticed the gas tube might be the weak point. I would be hesitant to just throw the thing in a pack or something like that. The hand guard can slide toward the end of the barrel and expose more of the gas tube. Just thrown in a pack, I could see the gas tube getting bent. I think a rigid soft case or a hard case would be needed to transport it.
