    If you edit a post without anyone posting after it, it won't say that it was edited. So, if he put it up for sale, then it was sold via PM or phone call, and he edited it to reflect SPF, it wouldn't show up.

    ETA: I edited this post, just to prove it.

    I feel the need to clarify.

    The "edited by..." message's appearance is time based and not based upon there being a post, or lack thereof, after the original post but before the edit is made.
