Ok, since there seems to be watch aficionados here, can someone explain what everyone makes so many diver style watches (rotating 60 mark bezel)? I am very picky about watches and have a hard time finding what I want. I find many that would work for me if not for the diver bezel.
I must have a day/ date watch. I used to only like leather bands but got tires of them smelling so went to all stainless bands. Stretch bands remind me of something grandpas have plus they pull arm hair but timex has an awesome watch for cheap that you can ditch the stretch band from.
I don't buy expensive watches as I am too rough on them, wenger and citizen is about as much as I am willing to spend. Some of the casinos are decent but overuse of plastic makes them look horrible very quick. I do have one that has served well as a work watch for several years but it looks like it was drug down a gravel road.
Simple and plain for me. Seems a lot of people don't wear watches anymore though.

for inexpensive watches that look nice and can take some abuse, fossil and diesel have some decent ones. my "play" watch of choice is the G-shock. I'm pretty sure that they guarantee your arm to give out before the watch does.

The fossil's and diesels look fairly nice at a glance, and aren't a heartbreak to replace if they get busted up. 75-120.00 or so id guess?

next step up: seiko and citizen, which run 100-1100 depending on variables.

Diver style has been around forever and it's just a very popular style. It can look dressy or casual depending on how you wear it. I have probably 20 leather and rubber watch straps to so I can make 1 watch look like 5 different watches just by changing them out.

Which G-shock are you running? I've been on the hunt for one but too many to choose from.

My daily wear is a Tag Formula 1. This thing has taken more abuse than I care to think about. It's dirty and will be sent back for a good cleaning soon. You can see the scratches that have been put on the bezel and steel, but the sapphire glass on these things really does seem to be indestructible. I do switch out to a solar/analog G-shock when I'm in the field or at the range though.

couldnt find a pic online of mine for some reason, but here it is. g-shock WR20BAR polar white w/ grey metallic. what i like most is that if i turn my watch up to look at it, the white led lights up automatically. great for driving at night etc. This is the gym/duty/yard work watch and it takes some abuse with only a couple scratches to show for it. I think it was 90 bucks or so? I have it in black/black as well with the orange led.

my absolute favorite watch of all time is at home- was a bulova signature custom that my folks had made when i graduated. i'll zip pics up later. I never wear it (sentimental reasons) but its too heavy for the band-pins it came with from the factory, and requires a custom fit band. If i could find someone to fix it I'd LOVE to wear it daily, but no one will dare touch it.

It's not a 20,000.00 watch, its 7 or 800 bucks at most but people just wont mess with it. Broke- you know anyone i can take it to??

the accutron is a modern marvel, no doubt. I was impressed with citizens eco-drive when it first released as well, but the bulova is tough to beat.

I have one of the worst addictive personalities that I know of. Thank God I have never looked at collecting watches.
My wife gave me a very nice watch as a wedding gift and I'm still wearing it 27 years later.

if i didnt love watches, i'd have an arsenal in my gun room that would shame most small countries.... or a budget for a much nicer vehicle than I'm currently shopping for lmao
