President Barack Obama Tuesday suggested that the U.S. government
should follow Australia’s example in dealing with shooting sprees,
which involved strict gun bans on semiautomatic and automatic weapons.

*Australia had a mass shooting [in 1996] similar to Columbine and Newtown,
and just said, ‘That’s it, we’re not seeing that again,’
and basically imposed very severe tough gun laws
and they haven’t had a mass shooting since,* Obama said,
after he was asked for his reaction to recent shooting episodes in California and Oregon.

He then went on to say;

*My greatest frustration so far is that this society
has not been willing to take some basic steps
to keep guns out of the hands of people
you know who can do just unbelievable damage,* he said.

*We’re the only developed country on Earth where this happens. …
Our level of gun violence is off the charts.
There’s no advanced developing country on Earth
that would put up with this,* he said.

The wave after wave of constant suggestions, ideas, and attempts
to restrict, confine and even do away with totally if possible,
the one Right that most all of us hold so dearly
is taking it's toll on Americans.

Australia's got some good things going for it. Gun laws definitely aren't one. I have aussies visit me all the time and the first thing they want to do is go shooting since it's prohibitively expensive/incredibly difficult to do so there. I lived there for a couple of years and looked into just shooting skeet and I could buy a shotgun for what would amount to an easy afternoon of clay shooting here. No thanks.

We should thank him. This is going to make it hard for Democrats to get reelected in November. This might also gun sales another boost.
All he is doing is "shaking the can" for donations. What he is really saying is: "Gun Control Lobby, please kick in some cash to help me and my party!"

POTUS foreign policy is a disaster, the economy is in shambles, illegal aliens are pouring over the border and being housed on military bases, VA medical is rife with criminals, and the IRS has turned into the political hacks of the Obama administration. But the administration will focus its energies on gun control when violent crime is down by 50% in America since the two strike laws were put in place.

The effort itself will never stop.

BUT DON'T LOSE FAITH! They can't make us do anything against our own will- unless we go the way of NY, CT, CA, etc and elect a TOTAL team of Marxists where it really matters (State level reps, U.S. Senators & U.S. Reps). We do a pretty good job keeping the boot on their throats here in LA. Let's continue.

Continue to support the LSA on a local level. Support as many pro-gun lobbying & watchdog groups as you can on the national level. And don't give me the "junk mail" gripe BS- IT DOES MATTER AND DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Convert a non-shooter- it works. Many are anti-gun out of pure ignorance because they've never been taught the truth. Take them shooting and show them the way. ABSORB THEM.

A lot of little things can make a big difference.

Obama can run his mouth all he wants- making his BS plan actual law is another matter, entirely. We are stronger than his mouth and all the anti-gun morons combined. Why does anyone think he's really bitching in the first place? Because he gives a damn about victims of crime?? Take a look at his (adopted) home town!! He's doing it because he knows we hold the upper hand- and always have.

True and I usually try and avoid spreading when a Politicians says something
but when the Pres says something like this....sigh...it's worth paying attention to a little more I think.

Oh, I do it, too! It's a good idea to keep people informed.

I definitely believe folks should know where he really stands- and I take him for his word. His allies in the press will ALWAYS try to paint him as a Savior Of The People. But we all knew what he was going in- and he has NOT changed!

We just need to remember that WE have the final say on this issue- because I guarantee you that THEY are aware we do.
