10/22 scope advice

I just picked up a older 10/22 with a nice wood stock. I wanna put a scope on it that still allows use of the irons so I can start teaching my son how to use both on one gun.
What scope and rings would you use?

There might be some out there that are the best etc but for within 50 or so yards that would be a decent little set up to learn on.
