I don't know why I can't remember this. Need a measurment. If a octagon has 8 sides at 8' long what is the cross measurment? I've looked at 3 formulas online and got 3 differant answers.

You looking for the long, short, or middle diagonal? 20.9, 14.8, and 19.3 respectively.

Yea..19.3 was what I was looking for. I remembered how to do it. Been too damn long..calculators have ruined the brain..

Use the 8 as a hypotenuse to find the inward length for the two diagonal sections, then add 8 for the middle.

2x+8=The middle section.

8^2=2(x^2)
64=2(x^2)
32=(x^2)
x=5.66

2x+8=The middle section.

2(5.66)+8=19.3

They didn't ruin me, I used my computer's calculator to figure out the squareroot of 32.
