I've added a CAT tourniquet and a professional lock pick kit to my EDC backpack. Since I've learned to pick open locks I've used my kit dozens of times for totally legit reasons.

What have you used lockpicks for? Just curious.

So it’s been a while. Have you added or subtracted from your edc.
Me, I carry a j frame with at least two reloads a flashlight and some kind of lock back knife and a SAK of some kind. A handkerchief is a must and of course a smartphone with an extremely large monthly bill attached.

    Hahahaha.. yes.
I have basically the same edc.. I'd also add, I keep a spare set of flip flops in my travel bag.

Plain and simple, you should know what your EDC should be just by habit of what you carry. I don't plan on getting myself put in handcuffs, so I don't need a handcuff key. I never use chapstick, so why would I carry it? Also, I work in the city, so there is food everywhere. The only "food" in my bag is some chewy granola bars and hot chocolate; No need for MRE's.

Knowledge and training is more important than the doodads in your pockets. Having a plan is something very important.
Whether my plan consists of going make more coffee or taking a poop, is something I should plan my EDC around. #firstworldproblems

In the past five years the only thing that I have added to my EDC is a battery charger for my phone, it's more convenient that trying to find an outlet.

Plus 1 to the battery charger and lock pick set. Doesn’t take much time at all and saves the homeowner a destroyed door and or jamb.

Are you actually carrying lockpicks though? If so, which ones and how do you carry them?

Why a lockpick set and why a handcuff key? And how/where do people carry both?

some pants like 511 have hiden pockets for keys like that in waste line... never know when you are LE and get caught off guard and over taken and handcuffed with your on cuffs and they are smart enough to take your keys lol

I can see a reason for cops, both on and off duty, to carry an extra handcuff key or even keys. But I can't see a scenario where a non-LE individual has a use for handcuff keys...or lock picks.

It is only a recommendation by someone not a requirement.
I do not think it is wise to tell others what I carry in my vehicle or on my person.

you know cause they tend to get put in hand cuffs alot... or no is what wrong

Let's not discuss those wackjobs here :)

But for an everyday normal dude, I have never seen a compelling argument for lockpicks or handcuff keys.

    here
    What is a tactical pen?

Pens that have “tactical” in their description I’d guess. Plenty of companies make then, including a lot of knife companies. Same as tactical pants, belts and so on
