Can someone explain or give me a link. Why can't one living in another parish buy a suppressor from ,say, Baton Rouge, where the CLEO will sign off, and have it be legal in their own jurisdiction where the CLEO will not sign off. Am I missing something fundamental?

The sheriff is not the only one who can sign. Chief of police, DA, judge who can prosecute felonies, state police, probably a few more i'm forgetting.

Why waste your time with the CLEO!!!!

just make a trust for FREE, get it notarized and enjoy skipping the photos and the fingerprints. And it gets approved quicker sometimes too since they don't have to run your prints.

Don't waste your time on the cops unless you know for a fact they are easy going and will sign ASAP.

The ATF form says "I am the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for the jurisdiction of Mr. Tulse Luper and know of no reason why he can't have this weapon". (paraphrasing)

The CLEO of EBR would not be in your jurisdiction.

Thanks, I didn't think of reading the actual form. Smart huh?

The CLEO bit really sounds like such a relic of the past.

Can you or anyone explain what this is all about?

    Thanks

I was trying to figure out what was meant by a trust??? Is this something only in LA? I moved here from FL about a year ago so have not heard of this before.
