A few years ago they were talking about something like that on the causeway. The system would do the math and figure out a speed and an officer would stop you at the end of the bridge and give you a ticket. Too many people bitched and they never did it. I didn't see a problem with it. No different than clocking speeders with aircraft.

The inequity comes when a broke dick's (redneck or hood rat), license plate is scanned, and the driver/owner/lawbreaker is flagged but is so **** pot poor, that not only can they not afford to legalize the vehicle (registration, brake tag, insurance, etc.), in the first place; they damn sure can't afford to pay the fines for any offenses.

There are file cabinets in courts and sheriffs departments all over the state chocker block full of outstanding warrants for people that didn't pay fines. And guess what, they like those DUI offenders that you read about that have had 4 or 5 DUI arrests, are still driving like nothing ever happened.

I would bet that a good argument could be made penalties from traffic laws only adversely affect law abiding citizens with the ability to pay. And thus again, those that commit to doing the right thing are those that are most penalized because of dirt bags that don't!
