As far as roads, I don't think the people of this state give a crap. I think they are fine with letting them and traffic go to hell. We had a chance before the runoff to get it as a priority, but the people said no.

The roads in this state have always been crap!
I have my potholes memorized and some of the larger ones have names!
Like, Grand Canyon, The Crater, Grand Teton, etc etc.

A pothole on Kaliste Saloom Road did this to my stock wheel and tire:
Going further, I can't even recall how many programs, taxes, and other items were supposed to have dedicated funds to improve Louisiana's roads. Sadly, I have yet to see any improvements and always wondered where the money went...
EDIT: But back to that pothole. Normally, I would have avoided it because I knew where it was. Unfortunately, the day it ruined my wheel and tire, it had been raining and it was filled in with water. I found it the hard way.

Go out and paint a rather large penis w/complement Sac' aimed at said potholes.
The offending pothole will be repaired in record time.

Sadly I dont think Vitter would have been of any use to us either. As a senator he goes to washington never to be heard from till re-election time. Yeah he has these great ratings but so did Boehner and we see what a great speaker he turned out to be. The time to pay attention was the jungle primary when there were people worth voting for on the ballot. But when you have people who only come out the swamp to vote and the pull the lever for a name that sound familar this is what you get. We were left with a heads I win tails you loose scenario.

Most don't pay attention to what goes on in the legislation. Your current governor with the support of the legislators, just stole even more money constitutionally earmarked for Dotd for roads and placed it in the general fund. He has done this every year. We as a state general get 4:1 matching funds from the feds for roads. Guess what happens when we don't have matching funds. Nada
