It's called Government Assistance. It is not called Government Holds Your Hand!

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov.-elect John Bel Edwards intends to remove work requirements that Gov. Bobby Jindal has enacted for more than 60,000 food stamp recipients.

Edwards sent a letter Monday to the U.S. Department of Agriculture saying he will seek a federal waiver of the work requirements. The governor-elect says Louisiana's unemployment rate qualifies it to skip the work mandate.

He's asking the USDA and the state social services department to stop any interruption of benefits until Edwards can reapply for the waiver that Jindal allowed to expire.

The work requirements are supposed to kick in Jan. 1 for adults aged 18 to 49 without children. To receive food stamps, they must work at least 20 hours per week or be enrolled in job training.

A lawsuit has been filed challenging the requirements.

Just want to say "Thank You" to all of the RINOs who voted for and endorsed John Bel Edwards.

A very special thanks to Jay Dardenne, http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/11/jay_dardenne_edwards_endorseme_1.html, for endorsing our new Democrat governor. And thanks to all Jay's supporters for voting for a RINO.
Thanks to Scott Angelle, http://blogs.theadvocate.com/politi...ott-angelle-david-vitter-endorse-republicans/, for refusing to endorse Vitter.
Thanks to all of you who refused to vote for Vitter in the runoff, even though he has a stellar voting record, because you can forgive him for cheating on his wife, even though she forgave him.

I blame you for everything your new governor does.

Applies to 18-49 year olds without children. How many do you really think are without children? The more children the more money you get.

I'm sorry I just couldnt stomach voting for a dirt-bag who has done nearly nothing for the previous 16 years in Washington other than eat bacon wrapped shrimp. I will ignore his repeated love of whores.

For the record they both churned my stomach and I agonized over voting or not. I abstained from the vote.

For this I will accept some of the guilt but the time to show up was election day not the run-off.

And truth be told I was embarassed to hear that Dardin endorsed the other dirt-bag.

Angelle might have well endorsed him too. He was a liberal pawn until just recently. Thanks for your honesty, now we will live with the consequences of tre decisions made by many like you.

If you voted on election day for anyone other than those two dirt-bags then by all means feel free to blame away. If not then consider pointing the finger back at yourself. Would Vitter done a better job? Probably, but if you have two dogs and they both constantly pee on the carpet you dont reward the one who pees the least. You beat the hell out of both of them and put both outside.

So who did you vote for? The guy who endorsed Obama in 2008? or the guy who endorsed the liberal governor we now have in office?

As I see it the choices where, a RINO that endorsed Obama in 2008, a different RINO that showed his true colors by endorsing the liberal candidate in the run off, a left wing liberal Obama lite, and a strong conservative who has women issues.

I voted for the most conservative candidate on the ballot. The one whose voting record best reflected my position on the issues.
I hope that all voters chose the candidate that best represents their position on the issues, both in the primary and runoff.

I would agree except that one dog was going to get elected whether you intended to put the both outside or not...

Yeah I voted for the jackass who endorsed edwards. I guess maybe he snowed me and was a liberal all along but my interpretation is he felt disrespected by Vitter so he childishly endorsed someone he didnt agree with on policy oug of spite. Either way it was a **** poor move on his part.

Edwards is a lib. He tried to hide it in the debates but most of us didnt buy it.

Vitter has been in washington for 16 years and while he votes pretty conservitive he has done little else. These guys asked to go back to washington and promised do everything they can to reverse the tide of socialism but all they do is cram more bacon wrapped shrimp down their pie-holes.

And in many election cycles I have used that same logic. I just cant any more that mindset is what continues the downward spiral. I know Vitters voting record isnt bad but is promises are empty at best and so are most every other Republican establishment canidate's. They have no intentions of taking the country back the goal is to hold on to their seat and milk this cow dry.

Keep in mind folks governors dont vote except for signing or vitoing a bill. They use their vision for the state and push an agenda. Vitter only invisions keeping the gravey train flowing.
