Didn't really set any goal for 2016 other than try to keep going to the gym with my wife somewhat regular throughout the year and to see improvement. Never thought I would be one to run on the treadmill but my new goal is to break a 6min mile. Last time I set a 6:30 pace and finished at 6:00 pace and had a little left in the tank. Not much longer and I'll be there. The treadmill does make it easy to set a pace and just try to stay on the darn thing.

Well just found this thread> 1st off stage 3 cancer survivor. Alcohol-free for many years as well as many many smoke free as well. Getting my muscle tone back building up my right arm that probably needs surgery again. So I can start shooting regularly again. Getting closer there soon I hope. Diet does not help at all. Still at 5'5" and 115 pounds. been down to 110 just 2 moths ago. Used to be when we changed to 100% healthy diet MY wife would loose weight and I would get some on.

Where is all the progress pictures of these sexy men and their weight loss :ghey:

No photos of me for a while because I was told not to drastically drop any weight until I am healed up from my oral surgery. One has to love bad genetics when two baby teeth follow them into adulthood, and they both manage to break at the same time.

You couldn't find a tighter shirt?? :mamoru:

What are your lifts at now?

Haha that's a L just cut it was a shoulder day.

My official bench is 385 I'm actually recovering from a torn labrum right now, I tore it going for 405. So it's no where near even my 385.

    Deadlift- 580lbs
    Sets are 345 x 8
    Squat- 435
I had back surgery in 2014 so these are a little low for my size.
    Shoulder press- 100lb each side
    Dumbbell press 115 each side
Dumbbell Rows 150's is is high as the go

Those are the only exercises I ever kept up with my max some.

I added cardio to my exercise routine this past week at the recommendation of my doctor, and it didn't go as planned. I found I was hungry ALL the time, despite eating a ton of protein. What's up with that?

Let's put it this way, any additional calories burned by cardio were more than made up for by eating...

Carbs help fuel your workouts. I eat more carbs than protein. Count ya macros. It's obnoxious but it works.

Oh, I ate plenty of carbs too. I normally try to hit 150 grams (or less) daily, and since starting cardio, I've gone well over 200 as well as hitting protein at about 250 grams per day. It may be an adjustment period since I haven't done cardio in a while, but I've been a bottomless pit this week.

I forgot to update this post because I learned something over the Thanksgiving break. With all the overeating that I did, combined with the napping, I managed to make some strength gains that were unheard of. Since the end of October, I kept trying to perfom a strict standing overhead press with 135 pounds, and I always failed. The week of Thanksgiving, I managed to push it over my head 3 times in 3 different sets. I also managed to get my working sets of deadlifts past the 300 pound mark that week whereas they had been hovering around 275 pounds.

TL/DR version: I managed to break my plateaus by resting and eating more. :D

It's almost time to set some 2017 goals. :o
