Just had their brisket plate, and I must say, I have a new favorite brisket in the NOLA area. It was GOOD!

I went to get some lunch for my wife and I's anniversary. I had it all figured out, checked the hours and got there early. It was the first Monday they closed. So I had to plan B it.

My daughter ended up working there. The guys sent some home with her for us. Nice folks. Good Q!

Biggest complaint is just missing out and getting the dreaded sign:

    Covington ain't the NOLA area...
On the one hand you're right and I'm very thankful.

On the other, the various publications that talk about the "best" this and that always include the North shore as the "New Orleans area."

Covington isn't anymore NOLA area than Kenner or Chalmette. When someone asks about the NOLA area, and the popular suggestion is about a place off Royal... I wouldn't expect the next suggestion to be off Lee Rd.

I've been by there a hundred times and wondered how good they are. What's their best dish?
Their brisket and chicken are my preference but their pulled pork and ribs are awesome too. I would eat their mustard and Alabama whutr sauce on anything.

As far as sides, their fries and coleslaw are my favorites followed by the beans and potato salad.
