    Good morning everyone,

I have been back and forth for a while on which Glock to suppress. I have done research, put them in the hands and pondered which I would like best with a can and surfed the web for ideas etc. It is time to see what the BS community think.

Your choices are between a Glock G17, G34 and a G17L to be paired with a AAC Tirant 9.

    ....what do ya'll think?

I was set to just get a new barrel for my 17, but I found a G19 MOS with an RMR yesterday for a good price and impulse bought it... just needs a barrel and for my can to get out of jail.

I figured adding a 6" can to an already long gun in a 17L or 34 would get front heavy, and I've always liked the 19 but went bigger for work.

Question, do you already own those glocks? Or will this be a new purchase?

I run my 19 and 17 suppressed just fine, I also have a gen 4 19 with glock threaded barrel.

The p30 and VP9 also make good hosts...

but the USP (tactical, SD, and compact tactical's) are my favorite hosts. They were designed to be fired suppressed.

I run my 9mm's with either one of my AAC evo-9mm or octane HD.

i have all 3 guns you listed as choices, and of the 3, i would go with the Glock 17 suppressed, it'll be quieter of the 3 due to shorter barrel and the other (g34/g17L) host are too long. I run the same suppressor too, the Tirant 9, though i do have others.

The 19 is the quietest though, if you were to add that as an option to the list. looks better too with the tirant 9 in my opinion.

Is your 43 suppressed front end heavy to a noticeable degree?

When it comes to shooting suppressed, I love my usp sd, easily one of the most accurate pistols in my hands. I used to have a usp sd with jet funnel (traded it to my brother) and that was probably the best balance due to having 17-18 rounds in the magazine. I like glock, but much prefer to shoot HK suppressed. All polymer pistols will get a little front heavy with a suppressor though, there's just not any weight in the frame. If you are ever in Nola on a weekend, and would like to try them out, you are more than welcome so long as I'm free. I love an excuse to get out to the range.

Damn noob those are some mighty fine looking glocks you have there. I may have to try them again to see if they fit any better now. When I was looking the M&P9 just fit my hand like a glove the Glock not so much.

I have a question for you guys. First let me admit to never shooting a suppressed pistol. I've shot friends' rifle and pistol caliber carbines, but never a pistol. My question is, other than just as a toy is there much of a reason to suppress a pistol? To me the biggest attraction of any pistol is portability and concealability. It would seem that with a suppressor you loose both of those.

I have my first ever applications in at the moment to do a suppressed SBR, so once I'm in I may be addicted as well. Just wondering what you guys are doing with these.

my night stand gun is a suppressed FN-Tactical with RMR and light. I Don't have to worry about putting on ear protection is the main thing. If you ever fired a gun indoors, It'll make your ears ring. Besides that, I actually shoot better suppressed, maybe its the added weight or length up front, maybe its the decreased impulse (recoil). But I shoot better suppressed.

I had a few M&P's also, but sold off all the full sized one. Still carry a 9 compact and the shield. I'm more accurate with the M&P but shoot quicker with a glock, so it's a toss up for me.
