I'm really intrigued by appendix carry but don't want to drop $$$ on something I might try on for 5 minutes and realize it's just horrible for me. Is there anyway to set up an aliengear cloak tuck 3.0 to replicate the feel of an appendix carry holster? I of course wouldn't carry in it, just wanting to try it around the house for a little while to see if I think it could work. I figured with the adjustability I might be able to get close but I'm not even sure how high an appendix rig should ride.

I carry a Shield around 4:30 to 5:00 and it's MUCH more comfortable than appendix. Sitting down with even a comfortable appendix holster (in my opinion and from my experience) is uncomfortable.

Which is funny, because I only carry appendix and a G42/43 anywhere between 12 to 2 o'clock is comfortable. I've even carried a G17 in a full Raven Eidolon kit for a year, including a 1,500 mile drive. What works for you, may not work for others.

The guy is asking to try appendix out. Maybe it will benefit him, maybe it won't, but my advice is that you forget about the Alien Gear holster and try a true appendix carry minimalist style holster.

Best bet would be to find someone who would let you borrow a holster to try it out. Doesn't have to be an exact fit for your pistol.

If you were closer to BR, I would let you try mine out.

That or maybe ask a local holster builder to try one out.

Will Silk (Silk Custom Kydex) is good people. He may help you out.

Appendex is by far the easiest way for me to carry concealed. I'm 6'5" and 190lbs and I am hot-natured like a polar bear, so very little meat on the bones to hide a gun and rarely more than one or two layers of clothing. I do however have a little bit of a beer gut. So my shield disappears pretty quickly when I carry appendex. I never need to worry about printing or bending over and my shirt riding up. Bending over can be a little more difficult but not painful with a good holster.
