First off, I just realized that we don't have a gear section. That's unacceptable :nono:

This pack isn't necessarily "new" to the market, but it's new to me. I made an impulse purchase after looking around for a rifle backpack. I wanted a pack with a hip belt and the ability to carry a rifle broken down. After stumbling across the Noveske Discreet Bag, and noticing that it may no longer be in production, I decided to look elsewhere. I stumbled across an older SSD article about the Elite Survival Stealth Operations Rifle Pack and instantly knew I had to have it. Well after scouring the web for the best deal, I found the last Red/Grey pack in stock and used a coupon code to get a bigger discount. I paid right at $160 shipped, so I don't feel terribly guilty about it. The Noveske would have set me back almost $220. Anyhow, I should have it sometime next week, and I'll post a review here. For now, here are some stock photos I found while doing my research.

    My requirements were:
    • Must fit a 16" rifle broken down, and secured.
    • Must have a hip belt.
    • Must open like a clam shell.

Luckily, this pack has all three of those features, and more!

My initial impressions (I'll compare/contrast once I have the pack):
    • Pack is made from 500D Cordura, so we'll see how flimsy it is, but it aids in the weight savings.
    • There is no frame sheet or stay that I'm aware of.
    • The hip belt and shoulder straps appear to be very limited in adjustment, but there are load lifters.
    • Unfortunately, the pouches shown in the hook & loop/MOLLE secondary compartment are not included.
    • However, the straps necessary to secure the rifle are included.
    • The upside is it doesn't look like some tactical nightmare with Multicam Kryptek.

Since the interior can use both MOLLE and Hook & Loop pouches, I'll have to start looking for some to fit my needs. I'm unaware of anyone that makes hook & loop pouches other than Maxpedition, and I'd prefer to stay away from them at all costs.

Delivery is taking their sweet time, so I should have it sometime next week.

Would be interest to know when you get it if you think this would fit an AKM with a folding stock. Looks like a nice bag.

I like it. I think 5.11 may make accessories that would fit inside. I also do not like maxpedition

I don't particularly care for 5.11's offerings, for the same reason I don't care for Maxpedition (and also other reasons).

So far I've found these pouches, with the help of others: Milspec Monkey/Tactical Tailor, Blue Force Gear, High Ground Tactical, LBX Tactical. Magazine pouches are a must, and the pouches from High Ground look well made. A plus is that they have a loop side on the front as well.

Fits a 16" barrel with a SLR Rifleworks Synergy BCF muzzle device just fine. Anything longer than that, and you may have fitment issues. This definitely won't fit an 18" gun.
