Reading that news report, to me, sounds like the same report every news media publisher has used in every shooting crime out there for the last 83847575747 years. Is this stuff scripted? I'm not surprised at the shooting, but am I wrong in my lack of surprise and originality in the formatted/scripted report?

There's only so many ways you can describe such an incident.

You are correct sir, it is the same thing over and over.
Kind of a Groundhog's Day where you keep waking up to the same scenarios.
Seems that there's really not many new ways of saying the same things.
It's why I don't enjoy sporting commentary; just the same thing over and over.
I mean, how many ways can you say a person scored a point or ran faster than another or...
    You get the idea.
But people like reading about such horrid things and it sells the papers.
Even if it is overly formulaic and repetitive.
