Hey y'all, I'm writing this to ask if there's a member or if you know someone who can help the ol' Creoleman with his efforts to "cut the cable". I'm paying out bills right now, and I am paying TOO much to U-Verse for TV.:( They would of course, be compensated for their knowledge/services. Thanks, CM

If your TV is a Digital ready tuner all you need is a TV antenna (even the older antennas work to pull in the stations) rated for the miles away you live from the stations you want to receive! Being in Metairie you should have no problems picking up most of the stations from New Orleans and Chalmette.
You can even use a homemade DIY antenna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P69KuHum7wQ

Solid Signal has many antennas to choose from...http://www.solidsignal.com/

I switched to SlingTV from Cox. Added HBO for GoT/Wife and I'm at $35 for TV and $50 for internets. I was at $210.

We also use a attic mounted antenna for local stuff.

THIS! Me and the wife did the same thing. Cox was so expensive for basic channels. Switched to slingTV and have Hulu as well. More than enough for my TV viewing. You can even add a sports package for a little extra. So much cheaper!
