I have this unreasonable urge to change the rear sights on one of my 1911's. I currently have Novak style rear sights on it and have had no problem with them.
However, I like the adjustable rear sights like on the Colt Gold Cup:
You can't just put the Colt-type sights on because the slide is machined differently. Probably more of a job than I want to tackle or farm out. There is also the option of changing out the slide, either a swap with someone who wants just the opposite, or purchasing a new/used slide. I've looked at Novak style adjustable rear sights but catalogs/web sites don't show much detail and I would prefer hands-on experience from someone who might have already been through this, or have recommendations for alternatives. Least cost is preferred (although I never seem to reach that point). Your thoughts?
