My fatty ps3 has the Yellow Light of Death. I bought some thermal paste to get the heat sink transferring heat again, but reading further it seems I'll also need to buy new thermal pads (whatever that is) and in addition need to re-melt the solder on the processors. Man, that's all a bit more than I bargained for.
Long story short who does this around BTR? GameWare? Someone else? Anyone have first hand experience with this type of repair?
FWIW my ps3 starts, runs for 1-2 seconds, beeps 3 times and shuts off.
