There is a gunshop in Michigan that commissioned Ruger to make some Ruger American rifles in 450 Bushmaster with 16" threaded barrels and a 22" unthreaded barrel.
The initial run was 500 rifles which sold quickly so they commissioned another 500 and it has proven so popular that I beleive Ruger is going to add it to it's regular lineup for 2017.
They are listed on gunbroker for sale or you can get one from the shop.
Tested on a Michigan outdoor show, the rifles were putting 6 shots from 100, 200 and 300 yards into a less than 2" group and getting 2280fps with Hornady 250gr SST ammo out of the 16" barrel.

Here is an article on Realguns:

Here is the gun shop that initially commissioned them, info listed about it under the Store Hours.

Here is the link to the Michigan outdoor show with testing beginning at around the 16:00 mark.

Anyways, I got one off gunbroker and will test it later.
Barrel threads are 11/16x24, so I'll have to see if I can get a thread adaptor for my hybrid can I just picked up.

Looking forward to some feedback once you get this. What hybrid you plan on running on it? I was seriously considering picking up a 45 colt barrel for by encore as a host, but this maybe a great alternative.

I would like to know to how it turns out, I have a encore 45/70 barrel that's threaded I will be trying with my silencerco hybrid, should be very easy to launch 405gr subsonic, but I do like a bolt action, and LOVE big bore...... I don't see how it can be a bad combonation

The rifle has great reviews and they can't keep them in stock. To date I think they have sold 2500 of these rifles mostly in 16" barrel but they had some with with 22" non-threaded. It's legal for use in Michigan's shotgun only zones. I believe it's legal in Ohio and Indiana as well.
I have to figger out a way to either get a 11/16 to 5/8 adaptor or see if I can get a direct thread 11/16 attachment for my Hybrid can.

The rifle shoots great and Silencerco makes the ACR muzzle brake and ACR adaptor for the Hybrid can. It sounds like a large caliber 22 magnum. This cartridge is very accurate and recoil is not bad at all. The can and scope add weight to the rifle but it's not bad in recoil without the can but a lot louder.

Ruger has this rifle on their website now and comes with a muzzle brake.
