Here's a question I hoped that I wouldn't have to ask, and I hope it won't be necessary. I have a can in NFA prison, hopefully it will be approved in a couple of weeks. However the LGS isn't on firm financial ground. If they lock the door and go away, how can I get my can once it's approved? Use a bloodhound?

i would assume you would have it transferred to another gun shop. Only speculating but i would think that would not be to hard to do. Call and ask the ATF, they will probably steer you in the correct direction.

I am dealing with the same thing and just called BTR branch of atf, then was told to call Nola branch.. I spoke to them.. the supervisor ANGEL , pronounced ONN GELL .. got pissy and would not offer any advice.. started asking questions I had no idea of. she ended the conversation with If you do not have information to any illegal activity, my conversation with you is over.. I was like I just called for advice..

I was about to say, find someone that dealt with 10-8 before they closed.

For the record. I never had any issues with the guys there though. And literally bought 5-6 suppressors from them

AFAIK, part of their shutdown process will be to transfer all of their ATF-controlled inventory to another FFL. I believe if handled properly, worst case scenario is you start your wait over.

Normally if a SOT isn't renewing their license and has a bunch of stuff still pending the NFA branch will get it approved so that they can transfer it before their SOT expires. I'd imagine if the FFL was going out of business and communicated with ATF they would work with them to get any pending forms approved.
