    Go get a permit dude.

I will eventually, but currently have many irons in the fire including wifey's permit. I'm just fine with it under the seat and the occasional OC for now. Mainly, I want to carry my (soon-to-be) new Ruger 10/22 Takedown in my pack while I'm out on a multi-day trek. More for 4-legged and no-legged critters, than for anything else. Was just curious about the legality of it, is all.

It is illegal whether you have a CHP or not. 14:95.A1 covers this.

    Exactly.

I'm going to settle debates and give some advice, then I am closing the thread:

    1) Don't break laws. It's not smart and we don't allow that to be advocated on here.
    2) If you don't have a permit (or legal device) that allows you to carry a concealed handgun - don't. Seriously guys, why push things?
    3) Concealing a shotgun in your pants is stupid. It's not even funny, it's just dumb. And it's not legal.
    4) If you have no business giving advice on a subject, please don't. You know who you are and your posts have been deleted.
    5) Concealing a firearm on your person without an appropriate permit or license is illegal. Being in your house, car, bathtub, or attic doesn't change anything.

If you have further questions regarding this subject that the above does not answer, you need to call the State Police group that handles concealed weapons or consult a professional attorney. The end.
