    Competitors,

Because of expected bad weather so few people showed up for the 21
January match that we held a practice match. Turns out the weather was
clear of rain by 0700 and the range was not flooded at all. Everyone
reported driving through rain to get to the range but there was no rain
at the range and it turned out to be a truly fantastic day to compete.

The next approved High Power match is scheduled for Saturday, 18
February. Regional format. Registration is from 0700 to 0800 and is
$12.00 for club members, $15.00 for non-club members and $5.00 for
    juniors.

Let's clear up the rumors. Yes, there will be an EIC High Power Leg
match conducted at the Palo Alto Rifle & Pistol Club range in
Donaldsonville, Louisiana on Sunday, 19 March 2017. Registration the day
of the match will be from 0700 to 0800 hours. The registration fee for
the Leg match is $20.00 including for juniors. Pre-registration is
encouraged. I attach a copy of the High Power Match program for 2017 to
this email. It contains information on how to get to the range & etc.

Traditionally at Palo Alto a Leg match is conducted in association with
a Regional or State Match but in the interest of simplicity and the fact
that I'm a one man show, I'm holding the 19 March Leg match the day
after the regularly scheduled 80 shot monthly High Power match on 18
March. This will give everyone an opportunity to get their zeros the day
before the Leg match. Registration for the regular monthly approved NRA
High Power match on Saturday the 18th will be from 0700 to 0800 and is
$12.00 for club members, $15.00 for non-club members and $5.00 for
    juniors.

If you want to pre-register for either or both please send a cheque made
out to Joseph C. Meynier III for the appropriate amount ($15,00, $20.00
or $35.00 for both days.) An SR-1 card is attached. In addition to your
NRA number, if you are competing in the Leg match please write your CMP
competitor number on the SR-1 card. Mail it to me at:
    636 Andrews Avenue
    Metairie, LA. 70005-2904

If you have any questions please feel free to call me. I look forward to
seeing you in February and March. Also, you may be interested to know
that there will be a pistol Leg match after the high power Leg match on
19 March. Skip Blanchard in the CC line is the match director for that
so if you want more info on that contact Skip.

In addition to your NRA number, if you are competing in the Leg match please write your CMPcompetitor number on the SR-1 card.

While most shooters have their CMP number, for those that do not this is a link to register. Once registered you will be assigned your number and can also track your progress towards becoming Distinguished.

    Competitors,

Just a brief reminder that there will be a regularly scheduled NRA
approved High Power match on 18 March at Palo Alto. 80 shots + 8
sighting shots. The next day there will be an Excellence in Competition
50 shot high power service rifle match followed by an EIC pistol match.
The pistol match will consist of 30 shots. Contact Skip in the cc line
for more info on that. Attached is an SR-1 card for the Saturday high
power match. If you want to pre-register there is still time for the
mail to make it to me in time. Match fees are $12.00 for members of Palo
Alto or $15.00 for non-members for the Saturday match and $5.00 for
juniors. The Sunday EIC match is $20.00 for all competitors. Make cheque
out to Joseph Meynier and mail to me at 636 Andrews Avenue, Metairie,
LA. 70005-2904. But you need not pre-register so feel free to walk-on
the day of. All are welcome and we will have room for you. Registration
both days will be from 0700 to 0800 at the clubhouse.

Ask yourself, when was the last time that you fired a shot in anger?
Well that's been too long. So come on out to Palo Alto and join the fun.
You know that you want to. A friendlier bunch of people you will never
meet. And that 7 or 5 you shoot? We'll call it a "factory flier" and
laugh about it. It'll all be good.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me or email me. If a
junior shooter will need support please let me know.

I look forward to seeing you on the 18th!

    Competitors,

What a wonderful weekend it was. One competitor legged-out and another
was awarded his first leg points. Attached is the match report for the
weekend 18-19 March which reflects a very nice turnout indeed. I want to
thank everyone who came out, some from as far away as the panhandle of
Florida and Jackson, Mississippi. To all who participated, thank you. If
you aren't there then there is no match.

The next NRA Approved Across the Course High Power match will be 15
April. Registration will be from 0700 to 0800 hours with the first relay
called to the line by 0845. Construction on the 600 yard firing berm is
underway as I type. I'm sure that you will be delighted at the
improvement. Gone will be the raw dirt and dust when the wind kicks up.
A very shooter-friendly rubberized deck is being installed. Come check
it out and see for yourself why Palo Alto is the premier shooting
facility for hundreds of miles around.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via email or
telephone. If you require support for a junior shooter please let me
    know.

I look forward to seeing you on the 15th of April.
