It's getting rough out here in Hammond. I'm just surprised he didn't have a stolen Hipoint on him.

Yeah I thought about it this morning passing the park just now. The only thing he was missing is a stolen handgun. Its all those natives from New Orleans post Katrina. Wherever they spread, crime and violence goes with them.
Read the police reports at The Daily Star on line, half of the reports are shoplifting locally. Just go steal and resell for cash. Its a way of life for some.
Have to give props to the HPD, they work hard to keep Hammond relatively safe.

Statistically speaking, Hammond is one of the worst cities in Louisiana for violent crime. I wouldn't call that relatively safe. Scroll through the statistics on these sites. These only account for 2015 data. There were zero murders in 2015, but in 2016 there were 8 or 9 I believe.

But you are right. 63% of the crime is theft.

Oh look! As of 10:30am this morning the guy who got shot up yesterday has passed. So add another murder to the Hammond PD books.

The HPD treats symptoms of our society. They don't spawn it, or produce it, or repair it. Oh and I agree statistically, Hammond is the worst city in Louisiana crime wise overall. There have been a couple articles in the past 3 or 4 years confirming this. Hammond per capita is worse than BR or NO! That fact is simply amazing.

The simple fact is 80% of the crime in southern Louisiana is perpetrated by a singular culture. Watch the pics on NOLA, The Advocate, or Action 17 websites. A very broken culture.

After Katrina, in Houston it was called "Death By Chocolate"

No doubt. I'll never forget just after Katrina, they took busloads to Houston (the Astrodome if I remember correct). And the Houston people were most generous, providing food, personal items, care, and shelter. Didn't take long Houston was willing to buy the bus ticket and more to get em out of town. Bunch of ungrateful and disrespectful leaches.

The only redeeming fact is they mostly murder their own. But we still have to pick up the medical, judicial, and prison costs. No matter how you look at it, they are destroying our country.
