Thanks for the link John, that was an interesting thread. Now we know who the real troll is. I'll have to see if he'd like to meet at a range of his choice and have a little shoot off. I'll bring a few pistols and rifles and see if he is telling the truth, we'll need a videographer cause this will be funny to post on youtube. I had a guy and his girlfriend come to the range I shoot at and claimed he could out shoot anybody there. He claimed he was the #3 top shot in the Army. He was holding a Taurus copy of the Berretta using a cup and saucer hold, had the sights about 4 inches from his eye. We took him up on his offer of $20 and let one of our 16 yo competitors go up against him. Of course the dude loss big time, then said we were just trying to embarrass him in front of his girlfriend. I see people like that all the time at the range.
Id rather not be around someone with a gun, who has the judgmental skills of an ape. remind you you almost murdered someone because they shouted they have a gun as they drove by you.

also 95% of the people posting now did not read the original post you posted. which was pretty ridiculous. Then you edited it to make yourself look like the hero in this situation, with completely different facts from the original post. wish i would of quoted the original post.

Why the crude reference comparing VS to an APE?

What ass would sit at a light next to an idiot that made threats like that? I have run the light also, as my 1st choice, my 2nd would have been to just sit , call cops and hope I didn't get shot and hope I didn't have to shoot any one else, what else is left?

Those kinds of people (and New Orleans is chockablock full of 'em) are uncivilized, untrainable savages. I hate to go to N.O. anymore. Totally infested with crime, drugs, and of course the savages that bring it with them. Perhaps I left out corruption among the "city officials" as well. I know, I know,......."ALL large cities are like that"......and within all large cities you'll find corruption and the savages at the base root of it all. Savages are certainly used to bring about agenda change, that's for sure.

I lived in the Lower 9th Ward for a year. We moved out because we got tired of the crazy white hippie maggots who lived on our street. Many of them were 60's leftovers who would insult me based on my Marine Corps Veteran plate on my car. One of them got mad when I refused to try some of his weed.
I had no problems with any black residents. Most of them were just too busy working to make a living to be concerned with anyone else. The whites were a mixture of bums and busy bodies.

That sounds like the upper 9 you are talking about from Marigny and the Bywater area down to the old MEPS on Poland. Ill take the lower 9 or Cross the Canal over those freaks any day. This year these freaks were dancing in the streets with a crown of dildos on during their 2nd line mardi gras parades with feel the Bern Tshirts on. Sound about right? That's a bunch of confused folks out that way.

    Here is his original post:

Very eventful and frightening drive to work this morning going through the 9th ward at 4:15 am. Lesson learned 1. Always make sure a round is in the chamber before you leave home, 2. Mounted light/laser is a must, 3. Slide mounted optic would have been an asset. Story starts here, there was an accident and the cops had the Judge Seeber Bridge blocked, so had to go down Poland to St. Claude Ave. I’m behind a black Cadillac SUV and near the light the guy gets in the right hand lane and puts his window down, I thought he was lost so I put my window down to see if he needed directions. All of a sudden he accuses me of running up on him and threatens to get out of his vehicle and beat my ass, I ignore him and while waiting for the light to turn I grab my gun, go to rack a round in the chamber and the bullet nose dives on the ramp and jams, he’s still threatening to get out his vehicle and doesn’t know I am armed or that my gun is jammed, I have no choice but to run the light and turn left (should have made a U-turn and gone back to where the cop was), the guy starts chasing me down St. Claude and we get up to 90 mph, and I’m trying to clear the jam before he catches up. I finally get a round in the chamber, and get boxed in by 3 cars at a red light. I realize I can’t out run him (I should have gotten in the right lane). All this time I’m thinking about the shooting that happened on the west bank a few months ago with the McKnight guy that got shot and debating whether I should shoot and have to go through that ordeal, he pulls up alongside again saying he has a gun, now I decide I have no choice but to shoot him in the head suddenly the light turns green and we start moving again, this time I made the decision to shoot if he catches up and pulls alongside again, as I raise my gun to take the shot, he sees it, slams on his brakes, turns off and hauls ass. There are usually a couple of NOPD cars at Gerald’s Donuts, but this morning not one was there so I continue on to work with my heart beating out my chest and reflecting on what just transpired and what I should have done. I thought about mistakes/decisions I made and what I will do different if it ever happens again.

Interesting original post. So if the signal light had not turned green for another 10 seconds, you open up on this guy and you have yet to see him actually brandishing a firearm?

John, the original post was written in haste, I was still wired up and not thinking about how I was writing or how it would be interpreted. I was not going to "open up on this guy" unless I saw a weapon. But him chasing me, and saying he had a gun was still a valid fear for my life.

I originally posted this so others could learn from my mistakes, not to get beat up for not being written to perfection, and accurately say what I meant to say. It all happened so fast is all I'm gonna say.

Will re-edit my post later after my nerves calm down, too many people nitpicking what I wrote so to be more clear I will edit my rant and repost making sure all the grammatical errors, are up to the standards of the grammar police.

    Edited Version

Very stressful and frightening drive to work this morning going through the 9th ward at 4:15 am.
    1. Always make sure a round is in the chamber before you leave home, 2. Mounted light/laser is a must, 3. Slide mounted optic would have been an asset.
I will preface this by admitting mistakes were made, but things escalated quickly, unexpectedly, and whoever questions my actions wasn’t in my shoes at the time so take this as a learning tool and not an opportunity to point out my grammar, punctuation, or writing skills. I know the law when it comes to justifiable shootings, I was LEO over 35 years ago and had a CC permit since its inception.
Story starts here, there was an accident and the cops had the Judge Seeber Bridge blocked, so I had to go down Poland to St. Claude Ave. I’m behind a black SUV, he slows and stops 3 car lengths from the light, the guy then gets in the right hand lane and puts his window down like he needed directions, I thought he was lost so I put my window down to see if he needed help. All of a sudden he yells at me and claims I was running up on him ( which I wasn’t) and threatens to get out of his vehicle and beat my ass, not wanting a confrontation, I ignored him while waiting for the light to turn green, then he yells *MF I’ll shoot your F’n ass, I grab my gun, go to rack a round in the chamber and the bullet nose dives on the ramp and jams, he’s still threatening to get out his vehicle, I have no choice but to run the light and turn left (should have made a U-turn and gone back to where the cop was), the guy starts chasing me down St. Claude. I am trying to clear the jam before he catches up. My phone had slid to the passenger floorboard and couldn’t reach it to call 911.
I had gotten up to 90 mph at one point, and realize this dude is nuts and won’t back off. I slowed down but never let him get even with me, while I proceeded though a couple of red lights as I saw no traffic coming. Then at the 4th red light I had to stop because 3 cars were stopped at the light and I have no way to evade this dude. I should have gotten in the right lane, had better options. Suddenly I’m thinking about the shooting on the west bank a few months ago where McKnight got shot, thinking I wouldn’t want that ordeal, but I’d have no choice should he show a weapon, when he pulls up alongside again, I’d have no choice but to shoot him in the head, about then the light turns green and we start moving again, by this time it was obvious this crazy dude wasn’t going to stop being the aggressor and I’m not about to let him take a shot at me.
Even though I didn’t see a gun yet, he’s getting more aggressive and I wasn’t waiting for him to take a shot at me when we got to the next light. I brought my gun up expecting to exchange shots. He sees it, hits his brakes and takes a left at an intersection and hauls his ass. There are usually a couple of NOPD cars at Gerald’s Donuts and decided I would stop and report him, but no one was there this morning. So continue on to work with my heart beating out my chest and reflecting on what just transpired and what I should have done. I thought about mistakes/decisions I made and what I will do different if it ever happens again.
After I filed a report with the 5th district, I find out from a coworker the he had a run in with the same dude in the same area twice last month, he also filed a police report at that time.
I’m posting this so others can learn from the mistakes I made and be better prepared. I’m not looking for critiques from armchair quarterbacks, I’m not looking to argue laws or tactics or how you would have handled it. I know I made some wrong decisions and hopefully learn some valuable lessons.
Maybe I missed it, but what gun was it that malfunctioned on you in this situation? Thx.
