    Looked and looked for a simple slotted screw fir the inside the trigger guard on grand paws 1940 Itaca 2 trigger shot gun. No Dice
    Where to look?

    Locally for an exact match, good luck! I'd search at Brownell's on line. They have the greatest variety of gun parts, tools, and misc hardware I know of. Or hit all the local gunsmiths and see if they might have a workable used replacement.

    have you checked at an ACE or True Value. They have some specialty hardware. I'm not really sure what the screw looks like that you are needing but, 8-32 slotted they should have tons of different types. (pan head, flat, counter sunk, allen key, etc.).

    I order most of my specialty hardware from Mcmaster carr. They have tons of different fasteners and you can see dimensions on every part of the screw. Shows up the next day for me no shipping charges.
