Definitely try and shoot here when no one else is at the range. Been there when people don't know what 'cold range' means too...

i tried to go yesterday and they had the road closed off at the krotz springs entrance. i had to make my way all the way to the whiskey bay exit. i was in a car and once i found out it was all gravel road for a good ways i turned my self around and went home.

I haven't been back since they put up those baffles, but it is also a 3.2 mile gravel road from US190, so you will get muddy or dusty from either direction.

yea, i took the back road to i10 and it was ag ood 7-8 miles of addtional gravel road then the whiskey bay exit was a good ways to sherburn and i saw gravel road and was like nope.

Found this video on you tube. Pretty much how it looks. It was all redone after it flooded a few years back.

Went put a few hundred rounds down range today. Here are a few pictures I took of the rifle range. They are the point of view from the table, the back rack, my target and looking at it from the 50 yard spot and left and right of where I was. Really like the place and will con f2f inue going. Besides it's free.

Typically to keep people from shooting to high, which at distance can put rounds over the berm

Looks to me like they are shooting M1 Garands at the pistol range! I thought that was a no no?

They are stupid... I have not returned out there since they have been installed. Plus i have read on here that they it to be loud when shooting.

Plenty, I was there earlier this week, Every lower baffle board has been shot at least a dozen times.

Tin had at least 6 different bullet holes in it and looks like 1 derp shot a hole using .410 buckshot, Truly an adventure at times!
