    This coming Saturday the 8th will be our IDPA match that was rained out last weekend. There will be 6 stages and minimum round count 108. Setup at 7:30 and hammer down at 9:00. This is not a sanctioned IDPA match and has no classifier in it. All shooters are welcome to come and get in some trigger time with their carry pistol. Must have a cover garment, eye and ear protection as well. Members $10 and non-members $15 . First time shooters at Tangi, $5.00

    I've been seeing coverage of IDPA matches for about a year now on Shooting USA, and it looks interesting. How do you break in to this, if you've never done it? Do you simply show up and shoot, or is there a process to go through?

    I've competed in IHMSA, but that's a totally different style of shooting. Maybe we'll just come out and watch one day, and see what we think of it.

    Show up and shoot. Most matches have a new shooter meeting before the match to make sure you understand the rules. And everyone on your squad will help you. There is some sort of match almost every weekend driving distance from New Orleans. Tangi has a USPSA match tomorrow in Amite.

    Thanks! On the IDPA site, there is only one range listed for the state, which is Thibodaux. So the club in Amite is sanctioned also?
