So... I gutted an all metal M249 replica and dropped in my Classic Ruger 10/22... results... functions as a stock... simple drop-in.

.223/5.56 rounds are dummy and for show. ACOG is a replica. I can post more images if anyone is interested.

Its a gutted all metal m249 Chassis I found on eBay. I made some structural "modifications" and fit the 10/22 receiver and barrel into it.

I'm thinking about adapting the GSG 110 round drum magazine into the fake box magazine that came with it to give it a more authentic look. Hell, even just the drum magazine may look cool.

I'm anxious to see how they work... I just read an article reviewing all of the current Drum Mags and the GSG came out on top in quality and functionality.

New 110 round magazine fit into the box magazine for the m249.

Still waiting on my muzzle brake and it will be done.

Shoots great!! Functions perfect after minor mod to the feed cover.

    Oh, and fake Chinese Elcan

Looks great. I'm in the process of building one also. So far I've installed a real m249 bipod,& buttstock. I have a gsg 110 rd drum. Still have to get the ruger 10/22. Hopefully next month. I've got an idea on how to make the charging handle work from the m249 also. Almost forgot I have a gat trigger system ( crank).

I finally finished my M249-22 build. Added a real saw pistol grip to go along with the real bipod and buttstock. Waiting on the heat shield. I got the charging handle to work with the ruger charging handle. I put a video on YouTube,it should be under m249-22

Yeah, I've seen the charging handle that works... but they all look "clunky". I put in the extended charging handle and it works perfectly and resembles the SAW handle. The full airsoft conversion works perfectly... I just did another one this week as a matter of fact. I will have to post pictures of my PARA model as well with the Bull Barrel.

    PARA Version with Bull Barrel

Here is my 10/22 m249 PARA conversion with a heavy barrel. It required a little more modification (front sight block to support the heavy barrel and rail system), but came out great!

Not sure which one you've seen, but they look better than the extended ruger charging handles. They look just like the real deal, & there's way more to grab on to. They also hide the ejection port,so you don't see where the airsoft Chassis has been cut. That's my opinion anyway. I did another, and tried the extended charging handle, but I didn't like the looks or how small it was. I also, extended my trigger,& drimmeled the airsoft lower,so it looks more like a real saw. It's a bunch of work, but definitely worth it
