I used my vision insurance which covers 1 eye exam and 200 bucks towards frames and glasses each year along with discounts on all the extras. Think it cost me less than 75 bucks for everything after my vision insurance. He bills it as frames and lenses (which it is).
I can't believe I hadn't even considered that my vision insurance would help out, that's a great idea if it will work.

Rudy Project Glasses with Prescription inserts. Love them. Use them for Shooting, Fishing, Driving and Flying. Ability to swap out the lenses to different colors and coatings is a great plus. Local Optometrist put the RX lenses in for me. My bifocals aren't need at my front sight length yet, so I use my normal Rx for distance.
