Education as far as safety and use?
After reading many stories and the one of the 1st grader who took a pistol to school.
I know when we were kids ya knew how to use them, and respected them for what they were.
Was thinking that dad letting us use them at a young age, made us not want to sneak a look / play?
And respect for them that they could harm us

I know one club in my area used to do "hunter safety awareness" classes for youngsters in my area a few years ago. Dont know if they still do it are not. The classes from what I understand revolved more around the safety aspects of firearms and not actually the hunting aspect. You might want to check with some hunting, shooting clubs, or ranges around your area to see.

    Boy Scouts ??

The first time I saw a gun fired it was mainly to demonstrate the potential for harm. Shooting cans of dog food made an impression on me.
Of course you show that to a psycho and it may not have the effect you want.

Caddo parish sheriff, and I believe it is going to start being taught in elementary schools per a new bill that Blake Miguel's introduced a year or two ago.

Also. Check with your local instructors many have taught their own kids and friends kids. It never hurts to ask or maybe try to get a few folks together and try to set a class up with a reputable instructor.
