Regardless of the condition you thought it was in, it still looks nice to me!
PM me if you decide to sell or trade it at a later date.

Yes sir. May have to take her out today between rain storms and fire a few. Neat firearm for sure. Thanks
Barrel and internals look great... doesn't look like it's had many rounds through it at all actually based on the feed ramp and bore.
To be honest, the quality of the Makarov (aside from needing to shoot 9x18 Mak ammo in some) has definitely stood the test of time. They are still sought after and traded regularly, even at the gun shows... though I will say some of the booths at the shows seriously mark them up. If you know what you're looking at and what they are worth, you can make some great deals.
I've never had a Mak fail on me... no malfunctions... nothing and I now have five of them... all pristine condition and all run like champs (3 russian, a bulgarian and an east german). I'm also a big Walther PP/PPK/PPKs fan... so maybe that's why I appreciate them. I almost bought an Astra Constable the other day because of how close of a copy it is to the PPK (other than the takedown lever, which is a PIA).

I would say maybe not compare how much they were worth 20 years ago... thinks tend to increase in value over time... it's a thing (the epitome of the way antiques tend to work). Look at Mosin Nagants (or the AMMO for mosins today!)... How much would you sell that '84 Z28 for today as opposed to sticker price in 1984 (aside from "upgrades")?
