Anyone have any loads for 6.5 Creedmoor? I bought IMR 4451 powder. Looking at 140 Grain Hornady A Max at magazine length. Ruger Precision Rifle. I have some Berger 140 Hybrids but are jumping way too much. 140 regular Hornady match bullets shoot a little better. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks :D

41-42 grains of H4350. Not sure about seating length for RPR. In my own rifles, I usually find seating depth changes things a lot, but not so much for 6.5 CM. I've done anywhere from 2.800-2.830" Also, try the Hornady ELD bullets.

Yea, went with 4451, couldn't find any 4350 at the time. Load data shows I can run up to 1 grain more of 4451 over 4350. I'll buy a few boxes of Hornady 140 ELD's and try to work up a decent load. Thanks!

Keep us posted on the 4451 if you would. I had great results from reloder 17 but temp sensitive. I started working with reloder 16 now and so far it has been great. Mine doesn't seem to near as picky about seating depth or for that matter much else. It will shoot about any Hornady box ammo MOA. In my pading it has liked Hornady 143 an SMK 142 loade with 42.4 grains of R16

Seating to regular mag length has been the same for me as seating longer. If you have a 1:8 barrel twist, there are also the new Hornady 147 grain. I've also had good accuracy with Berger 135 grain hunting bullets

I'll keep you guys in the loop. I have 140 Hornady match, 140 Hornady ELD, and 140 Berger Hybrids to try. Looking for a load north of 42 grains. First problem I had to fix is the rifle torque. Round hand guards suck on a rest. I machined a "sled" for the bottom of the handguard! Made a world of difference!!:)

Here are today's results. One kind of booger shot. Group was shot at 200 yards. 140 grain Hornady match bullet, 42.6 gr of IMR4451, BR2 primers. I'll go back and try 42.6 and 42.7 next trip.

It is a bone stock Ruger Precision Rifle. Jut put a Magpul PRS stock and a brake on it. I still think I can get it to shoot better than this. I'll let you know how the next trip to the range goes!

I think you would also be right on with your powder charges if you ever get some 4350

I went with 4451, because I could not find 4350. I called Hogdon and they said 4451 is as good if not better. Just need to run it about a grain more than 4350. If weather lets me I'll try to go again this week! :)

Thanks for the tip about 4451. I'll have to give it a try.

Did some digging around the house, turns out I have some Ruger steel mags for my Gunsite Scout that fit (look to be like AI mags!)! (been using MagPul magazines) I can loads bullets an extra .80" longer and they still fit in the mags. Jumping Hornday 140 grain BTHP match and 140 ELD's .015" I have room. Berger 140 Hybrids are the only bullets I have that are still too long. I need to do some more math? Found some Alpha 1 mags have an internal COAL of 2.920", HUM? :D
