    Greetings,

    New here, but not to gun forums. Hoping to get the "lay of the land" without getting into trouble.

    I like collecting weird and unusual 1911's and making accessories for them in my wood shop.

    One of my current favorite 1911's. This one is a 1918. I call him "Deadpool."

    It looks like you found that in a cave on Iwa Jima. Looks cool nice oldy.

    Now that's a distinct possibility. Never thought of that. The story I tell is that it was lost for a couple of years under the wooden deck of an early aircraft carrier in the Pacific.

    I think he was my assigned weapon in the military! Certainly looks like it!

    I have his brother - "Ryan Reynolds" He's a few years older (1914) and has had a facelift.

    How about Deadpool's "older sister." She is the looker in the family. (I keep mixing up the dates on these . . . . Deadpool is a 1918, this one is a 1917.)

    You're very welcome. I have a few. Was hoping to find other 1911 collectors around the site.

    Is there any sub forum that would be better than others?

    Also there doesn't appear to be a "like" button in any of the posting on this site. Is that feature I've seen on other sites not supported?
