Not speaking from experience as I do not own a .380 pistol and I use quality JHP in all my pistols but some recommend using hot FMJ rounds in a .380 due to the lack of penetration with .380 JHP rounds. Something you may want to research.

I carry a Glock 19 with ruger Lcp as back up. I use hornady critical defense (some sites way back when did tests and showed poor feeding and penetration on many hollow points with the hornady being the best of both worlds)

As for main carry pistols, I use federal hst

My wife's G42 runs HST fine. Mainly chose it b/c that's what we run in our 9's. I understand that it's not the same performance, but it runs. If not the HST the Hornady Critical Defense would be the choice.

Never, I have not owned every .380 firearm however everyone I have owned experienced feed issues of some kind. For carry I have several 9mm that have never had an issue.

My two .380s are a Sig and a Beretta. Not a single feed issue or FTE for me so far. Not yet, anyways. Which ones were you referring to? Just curious.

Lehigh Defense makes quality products...this is their .380 offering. Some carry FMJ due to lack of penetration of hollow point ammunition. Solid copper bullet with the flutes cut into it...creates wound cavity similar to hollow points, but with good penetration. There are two versions of this stuff. The Extreme Defender(carry ammo) and the Extreme Penetrator.

Not knocking you, you can carry whatever you want, but you should really look into that ammo. I guess the old saying that something is better than nothing applies here, but there are far better options available out there, especially for a 380.
