Let's not pretend that it's not disgusting.

What is a really good pizza place in the greater nola area?

I always liked Rotolo but they seem to have hit on hard times

I've heard good things about That's Amore but I've never eaten there

My girl and I think Zita's Pizza in Metairie on Transcontinental next to Coach's Corner Bar is some of the best pizza around. Honestly, we go there too damn much! We are once a week customers, and sometimes twice a week customers!

Also, if you're ever in the area, New York Pizza on Magazine offers a pint and a slice for $5 if you go to the bar side for a quick bite. Hard to beat 16 oz of iced cold draft beer and a slice of good pizza for only $5. Don't hold me to that though! I never go Uptown anymore, and that deal could have changed since the last time I did. Screw Uptown. Try Zita's in Metry!

Brooklyn on vets and Houma is pretty tasty. Apparently is a while NYC pizza place, ovens and all, bought and transplanted.

Mo's of course. But that's in Westwego.

    Zita's is very good.

Yep. The change from Rotollos to Theos was depressing... thin crust. Why not sausage on a cracker???? yech.

Pizza Florence is fair and they need the business. We go there when we don't feel like driving to the city. Plus the nice (at least once you get to know her) Czech chick working there makes it worth the trip.

BUT if you drive just a bit.... Pizza Nola is fantastic. Its on Harrison between Pontchartrain and where Tony Angelo's used to be, on the right in a strip mall. Food is great! All real fresh ingredients. Just pizza done right...

I went to Mark Twains on Tuesday night and it was terrible. It was the first time I hadd been there and the owner was not behind the counter. The waitress were doing the pizza and ours came out about half cooked and the cheese was not even melted on top and the crust on bottom was not even browned in the least. The gumbo was scalding hot.

Though I'm not the biggest pizza fan, I do enjoy thin crust pizza. So I like going to Gordon Biersch next to harrahs. There's also blaze pizza on ferret and on baronne.

Pizza domenica and domenica if you want something out of the ordinary.

And for a quick bite when I don't want to "go out" to eat, Sams and Costco both have a pretty good triple meat pizza for ~2.50 a slice.

Brooklyn is gtg for thin crust.
That's Amore has the Chicago deep dish on lock.
Mo's for when you just want to slip quietly into a pizza coma.
