Academy sports had Monarch 9mm 115 grain b/50 for 10.49, believe they had a case.

    Monarch 40 cal 180 grain b/50 for 14.59, about a case

    .223 cal steel 55 grain 20 per box 6.49, and .223 cal brass 55 grain 9.59 ( i think),

A few mix and match 45 cal Monarach 180 grain 15.49, a couple of Winchester and Remingtons ( I dont shoot 45's but I know I saw some)

I think Nicks in Garyville has 380 ammo, i know its very hard to find.

    Hope this info helps out..

    Where is this Academy?

I know the one in Slidell has NOTHING. It had 25 boxes of steel Monarch .223, but me and a friend raped it and it had 5 when we were done. It had about 20+ boxes of Federal XM193 ($9.49/box) and a good bit of Monarch brass ($9.99/box). They also had Remington around $12/box.

The only pistol ammo they had was like .357sig and .44mag and like two boxes of .40S&W. They had two diff brands of 9mm Luger home defense.

They had a good bit of UMC 9mm 250rd packs when I was there Saturday, I guess it got snagged. It does seem like they are filling the shelves a little more frequently lately, so I would try back.

Also, I recently bought ammo from Richie's Pawn in Picayune, he had lots of stuff and very fair prices IMO.

    Going to Richie's.

He advertised ammo on LA Sportsman. I decided I needed some more 9mm Blazer for whatever reason, and he had it, so I called and drove up. Only a pleasant 35 minute cruise up there. Really nice guy. He also informed me he would ship to me for the same price since I'm saving sales tax.

He had some nice guns too for very down-to-earth prices. I *almost* went home with a Saiga 12.

Wait, xm193 is cheaper than monarch brass at academy? Isn't xm193 the good ****?

I bought 10 boxes of monarch steel .223 on saturday from slidell. Good thing I got in ahead of you guys. :D The manager said their ammo shipments are getting better.

Yea my dad wants that same Saiga. Most of his guns are priced decently. A few of his AKs and ARs make me wonder at times, but the rest are good.

I guess I better start buying up his pistol ammo before all you LA people decide to start taking it :p

and yes, I'd take XM193 over just about any other ammo, especially Monarch (brass or steel).

i was at the academy on the westbank today. my friend that works the counter said one of his repeating customers bought all the bulk .22lr today.

but while i was there, they did have 9mm, .40, .45, and some .380 in stock. i also saw some .223 monarch but not much. but i picked up 2 boxes of .40. figured that's all i need for the range on tuesday.
