Here's the thing: I hate seeing the swelling movement to pull down statues, rename streets/parks/schools, generally erase history to protect someone's frilly feelings, but I've got no tolerance for dumbass racists and neo-Nazis dragging the Confederate Battle Flag along with them when they show up to spew their ******** invective about Jewish cabals and mud people. Screw those numb-nut assholes! However, if they want their permit for their day to march and sing, give it to them and be done with it, and let them walk around self-identifying as the idiots they are. The only power jackasses like that have is what we give them by paying attention and making a big fuss over it. The main reason most of the other idiot groups showing up to counter-protest were there was the same as the protesters: attention. "Look at me, I'm standing up for my version of what I think you should believe!" I don't count myself as a hardcore conspiracy theorist, but I do believe there is very little spontaneity involved with these leftist/ANTIFA groups popping up to fuel the fires.

Kraut you are correct in that case, I have no use for any of these hate groups. In my opinion they are all to blame for what happened

While completely incapable of civil discourse, the fringes of any culture, class, demographic, political ideology, or government proves time and time again, they are useless unless they can be exploited or manipulated to advance a far more destructive agenda.

On Friday afternoon, a dictator of a murderous rogue communist regime had warned the world that an attack on a US sovereignty (not to mention military installation), was imminent by the end of the next week. This threat, though seemingly silly and completely unlikely, could not be ignored (see history for reference). By Saturday afternoon, the threat was ignored/over, and Donald Trump was not only responsible for the Neo-Nazi movement itself, he had murdered 3 people, and was now the supreme leader of all of their groups.

The question that begs to be answered is, who in their right mind (right mind being a sane rational individual of sound judgment and reasonable intellect), is watching these corrupt news outlets day after day and believing this horseshit they spew? I can't help but worry that people are watching CNN day after day and say to themselves, "Yeah! Trump is the devil!"

How can you be educated and not see the difference between reality and a twisted ideological agenda?

    Who's rationalizing the behavior?

    This^ was my question too.

We (collectively), make jokes about this, because this whole anti-Trump, anti-America, anti-electorate campaign is a joke. If the democrats are successful regaining seats in Congress after all the losing they have suffered under the dumbass, all of this hate mongering, all of this name calling of the electorate that voted for Trump, and all of the crimes their leaders have committed, there is truly and unequivocally no hope for the Republic.

I haven't commented on this thread but I've been following it. From what I've seen, a lot of people are rationalizing the events in the context of the first amendment.

    Here's the rationale: Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Regardless of what they say on either side, they have the right to do it until they engage in an assault, vandalism, etc. I don't support any of the actors in this play and I'm pretty sure they wouldnt support my personal views but that doesnt negate their rights.

Yeah...I know. I hope Newbie21 sees your post so he might begin to understand. He's the one who questioned the rationalizing.

Gee some are so stupid if someone told them Col. Sanders was a slave owner, they would protest KFC and look for his statue. Soon images of our founding forefathers will be questioned and erased, then they will take down our flag!

I don't support a LOT of things I hear people talking about. But, we either have freedom of speech, or we don't. And even speech that I HATE should still be protected. If not, who would define what is 'acceptable speech'? Obama, Trump, Maxine Waters, Juan McCain, BLM, the local mosque...??

Anyone acting on hate speech is more of an issue, and we have laws for that as well, and they should be enforced.
