I heard the BR NRA banquet was this Saturday 8/19? Anybody know what time it starts and the location? Crown Plaza again? Is anybody here going?

Yep, Louisiana Gun has a table. Start time is 7:00 pm but the doors are open at 6:00pm.
Still at the Crown Plaza on Saturday. If I heard correctly, they still have some tickets available. I can put you in touch with one of the NRA Reps. if someone needs tickets send me a PM.

Doors actually open at 5:00 Sir.

This allows 2 hours before the program starts for people to overcome traffic, mingle, get settled, get a drink, buy tickets, and look over the merchandise for auction.

There are some spectacular items this year!

And just to be clear; this is the Pelican State Friends of NRA Annual Banquet. It is not "just" the NRA. The Friends of NRA is under the umbrella of the "big" NRA, but this is an autonomous fundraising organization that raises money to promote youth shooting sports, and the future of shooting sports.

That is an important distinction, because most of the proceeds from this fundraiser stay here in Louisiana to be used for our state's kids. The "Big" NRA raises money for political causes, lobbying, etc. This money is not used for that purpose.
