Legal? I don't know. But my Grandfather, who was a Justice of the Peace in the country, always had a jar or two of shine that he would take in trade for notarizing a vehicle sale or performing a wedding, etc.

Trade or sell without a license. That's the question.
Say someone dies and had a bar in the house with a half dozen or so bottles.
Or better yet you get a few bottles every year as gifts and you don't drink.
I'm not talking about running a moon shine service guys. LOL

I don't believe it is illegal, but I imagine many would be willing to break that law. Example: You buy a 24 pack to give to your friends for helping with a project.

What do you have that you want to get rid of?

Just make sure the recipient is 21yo.
there may be obscure laws concerning who can sell or trade alcohol but if you want to trade a case of whiskey or wine for a pistol or tablesaw that's probably not an issue.
If your doing it on a regular basis, ATC will pay you a visit eventually.

Beer is regulated, and licensed differently than Liquor. Why not just call the ATF and ask?

Just a topic that we had at work.
    I'm not sure either way.
Not sure I'd risk posting on the trade forums.
