Open and concealed carry aren't inherently better or worse ... they're just different. And I prefer that the law not impose artificial sanctions on how I should carry my firearm.

Sometimes I see people open carry in situations where I wouldn't. And I remind myself that I shouldn't judge others; circumstances that I'm not aware of may have made that the best possible decision.

That said, I don't give a fig if someone doesn't like how I carry my gun. Fundamental, Constitutionally-protected rights don't need to be circumscribed to protect society's delicate feelings. To quote one former Prime Minister: "... there are a lot of bleeding hearts around who just don't like to see people with helmets and guns. All I can say is, go on and bleed ..."

I don't agree with open carry at all. Especially the idiots that carry rifles. As a CCW holder, I actually tried open carry once just to test the waters and went shopping. I was approached twice in the store asking why I carried a gun and once putting things in my car. Not worth the hassle as well as for the other reasons people commented on. If you open carry, you may be brought into a situation that a CCW person may be able to avoid. Just my thoughts. feel free to disagree but it won't change my opinion.

I don't think this is a one size fits all issue, and never has been.
