Played with one today and the grip is VERY textured. I was thinking about getting one for concealment, but if I do, I'd have to file down the grip a little because it would certainly tear my skin up. Thoughts?

Austin, one man used grit paper to take away the cutting/roughnes of the stippling. He used grit that is on the low end of aggressiveness. He said it took away the cutting ability of the stippling without reducing the stippling in depth.

So I went shoot my new m&p 2.0 compact this past weekend. I have to say I still love the simplicity of Glocks but I shoot this gun much better.

My only gripe so far is finding another mag for it! I even offered a guy at the range $75.00 for one lol.

Jims firearms has them. You can also get them online for pretty cheap. I have four or five OEM mags that I managed to get for around $120 I think.

I’m sure you are thinking about different mags. Last I called S&W they didn’t even have a sku for them yet.

The guy I was talking to says he doesn’t carry a spare mag. The gun comes with 2 so I tried to buy his extra one lol.

Those are the full size mags it looks like. He's looking for the compact mags. It's a 2rd difference.

    Correct.

But be careful when ordering by rd count because they also make a 15rd full size mag for states with 15rd limits “colorado may be the only one not sure”.

Mags from the original M&P pistol series (1.0) fit in the 2.0 series pistols.

I have a M&P 9c (1.0) which takes the 13 round mags that it comes with. I also have 15 and 17 round mags for it as well. The new 2.0 series will take these same mags.

I actually don't even carry it with the small mags in it. I EDC it with a 17 round mag in it and carry a spare 17 round mag as well. 35 bullets made me feel a lot better than 27 haha.

The 2.0 compact will take the 17rd mags they even give spacers for them. The 15rd *C* mags that I’ve seen will not fit.

Edit to add: When it comes to the (compact) guns the original M&P pistol series (1.0) is not the same size grip as the 2.0 pistols. The compact 2.0 grip is longer.

Got a new holster on the way. Silk Custom Kydex has been a pleasure to deal with!

1st link is a *pre order* and I already pre ordered a few.

    2nd link is 17 rounders.

Thanks for looking out but the mags I need have never shipped from the factory because all mags are being put with the guns. Once they are caught up on the gun sales then they will start selling the mags. According to S&W it could be mid 2018.

I knew they were pre order, and the others were 17. Didn't know you pre ordered any.

As soon as the pre order worked I ordered a few. I’m just hunting one more so I can carry the gun. If I can find a another gun in stock this weekend I will buy it to get the spare extra mag lol.
