    For anyone wanting a full power hunting load, you can push a 168gr bullet past the 2000fps mark and they are plenty accurate. Expansion is fine even out to 200 yards with the nosler ballistic tip, which I decided on partly as a way to easily identify the loads for my use.

    What powder did you use to get those 168’s over 2k? I’ve loaded 150gr pills to over 2000fps, but have not tried pushing 168’s that hard. And how compressed was that load?

    Hey, at work so I’ll have to go by memory and check my notes when I get home.
    Lil gun 18gr even with a CCI #41 military small rifle primer and a moderate crimp gave me pretty consistent 2010-2030fps from my bolt action. I do pretty much all my initial testing with the bolt guns for several reasons but use the stiffer primers in all my 300 BLK loads in case I decide to shoot them in the ARs.
    I’ve been using Hogdon’s CFE BLK more often lately too and got a nice hunting load going for a buddy wanting a better load for his Mini-thirty. Different round, yes, but not too different.
    I’ve tried quite a few powders trying to work out some loads for the 300. Off hand, H110, IMR4227, Trail Boss, Varget and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to just 3 now. The Lil gun, CFE BLK and the H110 are still on my bench. Thinking about trying a 147 or 150gr pill now, just because there are so many options and to see if I can do better.
