Whale teeth. Anybody collect or knowledgeable?

    My dad was a collector of "stuff" from garage sales etc...
    I found a couple scrimshawed whale teeth in his stuff. I'm pretty sure both are real due to chips and stuff.
    There is no "paperwork" with them. Not sure what that entails.
    Or how to check value for insurance listings or if I decide to trade or sell.

    I am not an expert but do know some of them are very valuable. I would do search for collectors of shipping art.

    If they are whale teeth they may need to be dated as the whale is a protected mammal in the USA, don't know for sure but you need to check.
