Anyone ever set some post using the wash out method? Trying to decide between that and just using a pile driver to set 12 2x4’s.

I did a pier as a helper once.. used very long post hole diggers and dug 4 or 5 feet down in muck then used a hose and funnel with quickcrete to run in and around post as one guy poured, another held post and another held level and worked the hose.. it worked for years.. was the most redneck thing I had ever witnessed at that point in my life.. now, it makes perfect sense..

Home depot rents centrifugal water pumps. Connect a long section of 6" PVC pipe to a discharge hose, and stab up and down until you're a little deeper than you want to set your post. No concrete required. Nature will do the rest.

I had to sink 4x4s for my bulkhead at my old place on the lake. I cut an angle on all four sides so it made a point. Then used a 10 lb sledge to drive them into the mud.

Never used a jet to set a post but used a jet to remove concreted in broken fence post. Jet around them until they are loose and pull them out.

Might be an odd question, what purpose will these 2"x4"s serve ?

I meant 4x4’s. A small pier. And yes I know bigger is better. This place is off grid though and getting materials out there by boat is the biggest obstacle. The last ones have lasted 15 years though.
