    How many of you guys are with the times?

    Long gone are the days of carrying a Beretta or Sig P226. Now people have rainbow Glocks with red dots and compensators.

    What say the people of Bayoushooter land?

    In the regular carry gun rotation are:

    * Bone stock Glock 43 (.380 ACP)
    * S&W M&P with Apex trigger set to factory weight (9mm)
    * S&W M&P Shield with Apex trigger set to factory weight (9mm)
    * Bone stock Glock 27 (.40 S&W)
    * Bone stock S&W Model 65 (.357 Magnum)

    So other than two trigger kits across five guns, everything is out-of-the-box.

    Current carry guns have aftermarket trigger/sights/barrel. Other than that, my rainbow guns are for play time at the ranges.

    Cheap S&W sigma series .40. I'm not gonna carry anything nice or tricked out, because if I was to have to use it in self defense, one of the first thing LEO is gonna do when they arrive on scene is take possession of the weapon. I'm not handing over any of my nice ****. As long as it goes bang, that's all I'm worried about. I'll save the nicer stuff for other days/situations

    So your life is only worth a few hundred bucks for a cheap pistol?

    I carry a HK P7. Its tricked out from the factory in Germany. No need for fancy aftermarket stuff.

    If he practices with it regularly and is competent in its operation, then it sounds like a good strategy to me.

    Cheap Sigmas are not the most reliable firearm out there. I'm curious to know how many rounds he's had through the pipe in training.

    I personally don't understand the "I carry a cheap gun, because the cops will take it." If you're involved in a shooting, someone confiscating your firearm is the least of your worries. Rarely have I heard of someone having their firearm taken away in a "good shoot."

    Then why not a Hi Point .40 or .45acp? Save yourself another $130 min.
