    A couple tips:
Bitter coffee? Add a small pinch of salt to the grounds.

Like variety? Add 1\2 tsp cinnamon to the grounds.

Flavor fan? Go Yankee and add maple syrup(or equivalent).

Don't like maple? Use molasses or brown sugar.

I drink the death wish straight black find it actually tastes damn good like that... low acidity so not a bad sour flavor like some coffee.

I always understood that the darker roast coffee had less caffeine. Does anyone agree OR disagree with that?

high temps break down caffeine. a slow dark roast can keep the caffeine.

too hot of a grind, too hot water, to hot of a roast break down caffeine, and when caffeine breaks down it leaves bitter alkalies.

Just want to throw my vote in for the deathwish- Valhalla. Went to a french press a couple of years ago and never turned back. After breaking a few and wanting to have coffee camping I found that Stanley makes a French press for camping. This thing is tough and can take some abuse. I’ve had it roll off the table and onto the deck and not even dent.

Correct hence the importance of using water just below boiling. Too hot and it'll become bitter, too cold and you'll have poor extraction.

I was about to ask the same question.

Looks like I need to try this deathwish y’all are raving about. I’ve been drinking Communtity’s Evangeline Blend. We buy the whole bean and grind it before making. If time allows, I’ll break out the French press. I love the creamy texture you get with it. We have an old camping percolator that I have yet to master.

I drink my coffee black. No sugar, no creamer, no milk. Been drinking it like that since I was a kid. That’s the only way my grandpa knew how to make it.

This is correct. Roasting darker destroys more caffeine.

    Thanks for the info.

I’ve had it but don’t rember what roast it was. Packaged grounds and not the whole bean. It was good coffee. We used a regular ol drip pot to make it with so it tasted like a normal cup of community. It wasn’t like I felt I needed run and buy some after having it.

I like what the guys are doing with the company and I would like to try some of the whole beans with a French press to see if that would jump out at me.

I have a bag of their CAF blend sitting on my desk in front of me currently. Their Silencer Smooth is pretty good as well. I'd definitely recommend it.

@Anyone not drinking black coffee - once you go black, you won't go back.
